Fun/Interesting Travels...

So, I was backing up my old iPhone 3, not the 3s, the THREE, and while I was looking at the photos I did notice that I've taken that phone into some crazy places. I thought I'd post some of those photos and a few comments on them. True while not many people will actually read/view this post, it'll be fun to come back to this post from time to time and reminisce. Here we go...

This was one of the many photos I took while out on a ride-a-long. Here on River Rd. you'll find all kinds people including those sporting a rebel flag and sporting the attitude that goes with that flag.

These times are always memorable. Here is one of many times that my Grandma Rose referred to my boy Adrian as "Blue Eyes". She can't see much but she sure can see "Blue Eyes" from across the room. Love it!

Selena! Enough said!

This was the awesome cake that my wife made for my 29th birthday! It was amazing!

DAYUM my luck. THIS is what I get for not putting the roll on the thingamajigger!

Ah yes... the view that I got so used to. This was one of our Dodge Chargers that I logged THOUSANDS of miles on. This was in East Texas somewhere.

Haha... I found this random box of condoms in the baby section of Wal-Mart. I thought it was funny!

These two shots were from a suite box at a Spurs game in 2009. These are two of my best friends. Couldn't ask for better people!

These two shots were taken in Canadian, TX. This trip is a 14 hr trip from New Braunfels. SOOOO cold during this trip I couldn't start the car and had to buy a battery over 100 miles away. I almost turned the car off before getting the new battery.

This was a mistake of a purchase from Reeves County. The warrants officer convinced the county to buy one. Unfortunately NO equipment fit into this car. Funny!

We've all heard of People of Walmart, but this mullet (moo-ley) or Tennessee mudflap was special!

Some of the attractions in San Angelo, TX.

This was a majority of the destruction from a F1 tornado that I arrived 3 hours after it hit Canton, TX.

I found this treasure on my way to Smith County constable's office. It got a little nasty when the local Aryan punks approached me... fun fun

Borden County old jail and one of their patrol cars!

This is a 125ft cross in Ballinger, TX. I saw it so many times from the road one day Jesse and I stopped to check it out. Pretty neat IMO.

Yup... Been there and spent stupid amount of $$$ for Dr Pepper made with real sugar.

This is how some inmates eat at a County jail. Yum!

Parts helicopters for the aviation program in Canton, TX.

Found a bunch of these types of posters on bathroom walls while traveling to police agencies around Texas.

A view that I became very used to.

Ever seen a SMASHED AFC Championship ring?! This one belongs to Charles Mauck.

Okay..... I'll add more later.

So, I don't have too much to say but the job is really going well and I'm getting plenty of time to go and visit my in-laws. They're great people. We're all so busy so I'm glad that I can hang out with them the day that I get here and it's almost the calm before the storm. But I wouldn't want it any other way right now! Without further adieu, here are some of the finer things in my life right now!
With these two boys in my life, I am a rich man! I hate being away from them (work).

So much on my mind...

So it's 9/10/11. Yep the day before the 10th Anniversary of the infamous 9/11! We can't go anywhere or listen to the radio or watch the news or even go to my favorite news website without seeing SOMETHING about the 10th Anniversary of the this date. I guess it's not that I'm trying to forget about it, but it sorta upsets me that we as a nation decide to get so patriotic after such an event, an attack and most of all a slap in the face. This was a wake up call but I feel that shortly after we went to war many people forget the reason for us going to war. Now people, our own citizens, are so against our nation doing what we're doing in other countries. I'm afraid that we as a nation have fallen back to "sleep" and I'm afraid what will happen next. We need to continue to be vigilant and remember who we are as a nation and protect what we have. Yes we may be struggling in our economy but why do we farm out jobs to other countries and why do we continue to not look at ways to strengthen our own country?! It's all very tiresome and I hope that we can continue to remember who we are and stand up for America and keep it safe for future generations.

You know the other day when I got my flight itinerary and saw that I was flying out on the morning of the 10th Anniversary and I had so many bad thoughts run through my head and I knew as soon as I told the wife about my flight she'd lose it. But I also thought of the security measures that we have in place. I myself have been thoroughly searched probably because the little sniff machine picked up a hint of gun powder. I thought how is it possible that someone could get something even more dangerous on a plane?! My thoughts also went those who flew and perished the day of 9/11/01. I'm still a little nervous but I'm sure I'll be fine and get to Utah safe. I'm more concerned for the mental stress for the wifey! :P

I pray for those others flying out tomorrow. But I'm sure if something were to happen up there most of us would act out and keep the rest of the passengers safe because there are those who are sheep and those of us who are sheep dogs! Woof! ;) Anywho, I thought I'd upload some recent photos as well.

So much to catch up on...

So since the last time that I've blogged I've had so much go on in our little family life! We have the addition of Gabriel and he's such a blessing that I can't help but smile every time I look at this perfect baby boy. He's now almost 6 months old and already such a happy boy! Adrian turned 3 and still is as awesome as ever!!! We were also able to have two of my wife's siblings come to visit for two weeks which was such a good time! We did a little bit of everything in the short time they were here (Schlitterbahn, Corpus Christi, Natural Bridge Caverns, Landa Park, Outlet's, Riverwalk etc.). We also welcomed a new member of our family Calypso Grace Cesar Alvarez, yes that's a bit of a Mexican'ish name but Calypso just fit and grace is due to her not being so grace-ful and Cesar is in honor of her late papa and retired police K-9 of the New Braunfels Police Department. I'll include a photo of her as well...

I've also landed a new job. A little bitter-sweet since my current job has been a part of my life for almost 5 years. I'll be in Utah for training and the in-laws will be in Texas. I didn't plan it but I'm almost glad since they will be able to help Aubri with the kiddo's. Anyways, I've made a little bit of time to do some photography... Without further adieu, some photos of the past 5 months...

Where to go with Photography...

I've been travelling much more with work than I'd like to, but it's work and I will do what's needed to provide. To relax I've been picking up my D200 a little more. Unfortunately I'm not home as much as I'd like to, to take the photos of my favorite subjects, my family. But I have taken some shots recently and thought I'd put them out on the net for others to see. These are coming straight out of the camera. As a father of a 2.5yr old and a 7week old I don't have a whole lot of time to edit these shots, but here you go...

New Alvarez!

So it's been a while since I've updated this so I thought I'd do that very quickly since I don't have a lot of time on my hands since the addition of a new Alvarez to our little family. This time it's NOT an animal! Gabriel Richard was born this weekend and again we have another PERFECT baby boy! So that's all of the updating I'm going to put out there, but I'll let the photo talk for itself.
